This one ... this one broke me (Lord have mercy, that PROLOGUE).  After reading all that happened, I had to put the book down for a solid 24 hrs before I could pick it back up and finish the read.  It effected me so much.  I was at the point where I was a sobbing, hysterical mess. This world ... man, oh man ...

But pick it back up I did and when I started in on Chapter 1 until the Epilogue, I was hooked.  I don't think I took a break to eat - maybe just snacked - that's how much I was engrossed. And in the end, this one broke me.  Sloane ... my god S-L-O-A-N-E!!!  I want her to join the "family" business. She's got what it takes to be Donna - just like Catarina was.  She could lead the DiPietro family along side Cristian.  And Cristian!  OMG, I loved him and then I hated him. He really disappointed me here - I get why he reacted the way he did but still! - and I was firmly with Elisa in her interpetation of what Sloane was going thru and difficulty she faced. But, he redeemed himself in the end and I was satisfed to a degree.  Elio stole the scenes he was in every time. That kid is adorable. I would have liked to hear from him more in the later parts of the book, especially regarding his relationship with Yasmine.

All in all, this book has left a mark on me.  I can't say I'll ever go back to re-reading it (like I do with the other Mazzone Mafia related books).  If I do, it will be quite a while as I don't think anything I've read will fade with time. This is a MUST READ, however, if you have triggers - definitely read the warning.

I'm looking forward to Rowan and Lia's book - because friends to lovers to enemies to lovers is most definitely my jam!
