I had to take my time with this one. It's been YEARS since I read the On Dublin Street Series, and while it was exciting to revisit the characters that I fell in love with, I noticed that I completely spaced out on what exactly occurred during those books. So, of course I had to stop and re-read the 1st book - for a bit. Ok, I didn't re-read the entire book - more like skimmed. But I still needed that refresher.
In any case, this book is about Joss and Braden's oldest Beth. And unlike her mother, she really got me into this story of second chance at the 1st love. However, it was not an easy road back to it. I loved the backstory of Beth and Callan, their meet-cute, their burgeoning romance, and the devastation of them parting ways. Neither one was a fault, but of course they were teens and not the best communicators. I solely place the blame here on Braden and I have to say, I was put off by his attitude for a while. I understood where he was coming from, but like Joss - I was livid with him.
I seriously want to re-read the entire series again now and then this book again. I especially want a book for my dear goalie Baird, the MVP of this story. He was always #TeamBellan!
