After reading Devlin and Ellie's story, I wanted something similar for Brandy and Ronan. This one just fell short of my expectation. There's a lot of sexy time, intrigue, action, and adventure - but the relationship aspect just felt off. We get backstory on Ronan's past and revisit Brandy's but them coming together as a couple to root for? Just lackluster and unbelievable. I have a hard time accepting that these two ride off into the sunset and are deserving of it. Maybe I'm basing this ALL on that ending, but darn it, the ending is supposed to bring it all to a head. It felt rushed and poorly executed.
It's also the reason why I was taking my time to read this one - I wanted that build up. Sadly, I got a wham-bam, thank you ma'am.
