The book picks up after the events at the end of the last book ... where literally, the crap has hit the fan! I was desperate for this book, as I still had so many unanswered questions. Well, I have NO more questions! All has been revealed and WHOA!
There were so many twist and turns in this book. Come prepared to have you mind blown and make sure you keep up with story, or you will be lost. We get to hear from Evan more in this book as it is majorly in his PoV. It was refreshing to see inside his heart & mind, and I so happy about that because he is such an amazing young man. Evert girl needs an Evan like this in her life!
Becca is still hurt/feeling betrayed by Evan and Scarlett after what happened at the end of the last book. She feels alone again and starts to push the rest of her friends away, to prevent anymore hurt. Evan is still struggling with his home life and the pressure that puts on him. The way he deals with - it just makes one want to fall in love with him, he's such a stand up young man who has been dealt a dirty deal in life.
His little brother Eli, who is the most adorable little boy, is truly the saving grace of this book - their relationship is so pure because when he loves he loves hard.
It was hard for Becca to forgive, it didn't happen immediately. I adored how Evan didn't give up on her - he stayed and fought for them because he knew she was worth it.
There are twist and turns and a reveal that I guessed earlier - but color me shocked when there was more to be discovered! This book keeps you guessing the whole way through! I hope that some of the secondary characters like Scarlett, Lily and Malachi get there own stories - each one has a story that needs told. I'd gladly read them! L.A. Cotton has weaved a well written story that tied up all those loose ends, and I for one can't wait to read more her.
